APM Certificated Project Manager

QUALIFICATION SUMMARY

Who will benefit apm_logo
Anyone with extensive experience in managing complex multi-disciplinary projects, including:

  • Project and Programme Directors
  • Programme Managers
  • Senior Project Managers

What will you gain?
The Certificated Project Manager will be able to manage complex multi-disciplinary projects with significant interfaces both within their organisation and with external suppliers and stakeholders.

This IPMA Level B qualification will provide added value to any technical or business qualification by demonstrating your ability to manage and successfully deliver any complex project.

You will also be added to APM's list of Certificated Project Managers, which is made available to organisations looking for project management services.

 

 

Assessment outline

Stage One:
You will be expected to submit a CV detailing your experience in managing complex projects along with a self assessment form and a précis of a project you have managed that demonstrates your capabilities as a Project Manager.

Stage Two:
You will be expected to complete a 5000 word project report based on the précis submitted in Stage One.

Stage Three:
You will be invited to take part in a Professional Interview with a panel of assessors.

What is assessed
The assessment process examines your ability to demonstrate the technical and management skills that enable excellent project management.

Management skills include leadership, independent judgement, communication, vision, flexibility, self-awareness, responsibility and judgement. Techniques and methodologies include planning and budgeting, commercial acumen, contract and financial management, and environmental and political awareness.
